Manfred Glauninger is a sociolinguist at the research department ‘Variation und Wandel des Deutschen in Österreich’ (‘Variation and Change of German in Austria’) at the ACDH and teaches at the Department of German Studies of the University of Vienna.

Subscribing to a radical (operative) constructivist view of science, he is mainly interested in a comprehensive theorizing of the ‘social meaning’ of language and its communicative functionality as well as in scientific knowledge as a convention.

Jan David Zimmermann, BA MA

Jan David Zimmermann graduated from the University of Vienna with a Master’s degree in History and Philosophy of science after receiving a Bachelor’s in creative writing from the University of Applied Arts Vienna. He is currently working on his dissertation on the history of linguistics with a special focus on linguistic cartography during the first half of the 20th century. He has been a holder of the ÖAW-Doc scholarship since 2017.

Within the project ‘Österreichische Dialektkartographie 1924-1956. Digitalisierung, Kontextualisierung, Visualisierung’ he did conceptual, theoretical and coordinating work as well as participating in the digitalization and the acquisition of meta data.

Klemens Wagner, BA

Klemens Wagner was part of the DIAUMA team as a student assistant. He was mainly tasked with work on the database as well as digitizing and editing the maps. He is currently working on his Master’s degree in German Studies at the University of Vienna and writing on his thesis about Eberhard Kranzmayer.

Claudia Hackl, BA

Claudia Hackl was part of the DIAUMA team as a student assistant. Her responsibilities included, among other tasks, the implementation of the georeferencing process and digitizing maps for the web platform. She is currently studying to complete her teacher training (German and IT) at the University of Vienna.

Alexander Watzinger

Alexander Watzinger is a software developer with a special interest in data modeling and scientific open source web applications. He developed the web application for entering and browsing the map scans with metadata which is open source and available on GitHub.
